On the news is a report of revitalizing the Blackstock Landfill by digging through the buried garbage, to find saleable recycling materials. A sizeable grant has been received to assist with this project.

A large crowd of relatives and friend attended the funeral of Harold Crawford at the Low and Low Funeral Chapel on Saturday morning. The reception was held at the chapel following the service.
Sympathy is extended to the family of Violet Warner, a longtime resident of Caesarea, whose visitation was held at Wagg Funeral Home on Monday afternoon.
Another death of local interest is that of Roger Cochrane of Bowmanville, who grew up in the Blackstock area. He was also well known in the tractor pulling circles. Sympathy is extended to his sons Rod and Jeff and his daughter Judy and their families.
Graham and Jeanie Duff, Earle Trew, and Joyce Kelly, attended the annual meeting of the Ontario Truck and Tractor Pulling Association at Schbomerg Hall on Saturday afternoon.
Winners at the Blackstock Euchre Club on Tuesday evening were: first Pat Allemang; second Val Priebe and Jackey Atfield; fourth Elmo Gibson; fifth Ellen Gibson, who also had the most lone hands. The winners of the specials were Lorna Edgerton, Doug Day, Phil Sibbert, and Chris McArtle. These parties are open to anyone who enjoys playing progressive euchre. Just be at the United Church ready to play by 7:30 sharp.
