Welcome to the first ever Virtual Port Perry Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides, being held on May 31st. For over 34 years, the Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides has been a vital national fundraiser, in support of Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides. Following national directives, the third Pet Valu Walk for Dog Guides will take place virtually, in a physically distant manner, on May 31st. Now more than ever Dog Guides is relying on the generous support of its donors and partners to meet its goal of giving Canadians a new leash on life. It raises funds to help train Dog Guides for Canadians with visual, hearing, medical or physical disabilities to provide them a Dog Guide at no cost. Register as part of the team or donate at this web address: https://walkfordogguides.com/pp. Last year, thanks to our awesome supporters and sponsors, the second Walk for Dog Guides in Port Perry collected a record $20,131 which was the most donations raised in Durham region. We were the eighth highest fundraiser of 256 Canadian walks, behind much more established and larger centres like Oakville, Toronto, etc…! Let’s virtually have the most fun with this Virtual walk! You can post pictures of preparing for the walk or of the day itself on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. And since this is a virtual walk you can post pictures of cats, goldfish, gerbils, etc.. in “interesting” poses, like cat nap in pajamas, etc… Have fun! There will be prizes for best picture, best post on Facebook, most popular post on Facebook, most shared post on Facebook, most shared post on Twitter, most liked post on Instagram, top fundraiser, and more. All participants, who register above, will be able to pick up a valuable grab bag outside the Port Perry Pet Valu store the first week of June. Currently, the grab bag features a Pet Valu calendar, a Walk for Dog Guides bandana, Earth Rated Bio bags, dog treats, sample dog foods, and more.
