COURTNEY McCLURE, for The Standard

UXBRIDGE: The township of Uxbridge is asking residents of the municipality to show their #UxbridgeProud. Another hashtag participants are encouraged to use is #DurhamStrong. According to a post on the Canada Day Uxbridge Facebook page, residents are encouraged to decorate their front lawn, house, or trees with decorations that represent Canada Day. After decorating, all residents have to do is post a picture of whatever they decorated to the Uxbridge Canada Day Facebook page. There are three prizes for winners of the contest. The prize packages will include gift cards for local businesses and a red Uxbridge t-shirt. The t-shirt is from the website SupportLocal.ca. They are a local company that donates their sales proceeds to the Uxbridge Food Bank and the Uxbridge Emergency Pet Food Bank. The deadline for this contest is next Monday, June 29th and winners will be announced on Canada Day, July 1st.
