UXBRIDGE: The Uxbridge Secondary School 100th Anniversary Reunion runs from Friday, May 26th to Sunday, May 28th. There are three fun-filled days with activities for all. Uxbridge Secondary School (USS) is open Friday, May 26th, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
If you’ve pre-registered for the Reunion, you can pick up your registration package or register in person at the school. Enjoy the Decade rooms, a Self-Guided Scavenger Hunt or a live tour of the USS. The Uxbridge Legion will be hosting a free Welcome Night for all, including Karaoke, from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Saturday morning begins with a Guided Quaker Village Trail Walk (accessible), beginning at the Uxbridge Arena, at 8:45 a.m. and a Guided South Balsam Trail Walk (natural surface), starting, at the Arena, at 9:15 a.m. Once you’ve walked up an appetite, meet up at USS, where the Culinary Arts students will be showcasing their skills with a delicious breakfast, from 8 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. Please pre-register and purchase your tickets if you plan to enjoy breakfast with us. At 11 a.m., the Official Ceremonies will begin in the Gym with Gallery. Current
USS students will be performing, during the ceremony, and guest speakers, from various times in USS history, will take you for a walk down memory lane with their stories. Guided tours, run by current USS students, will take place in the building. Stroll through the Decade Rooms or enjoy the Self-Guided Scavenger Hunt. Pick up the directions for a self-directed
walking/driving tour of Uxbridge.
Sports enthusiasts take note. The Anniversary Golf Tournament will hit the course at 1:30 p.m. (be there by 1 p.m.), at Foxbridge. Space is limited, so please pre-register for the event.
Additionally, an Alumni Volleyball Village Tournament will take place in the New Gym. Sign up, via the USS website link, by May 19th to get your spot.
Take a stroll down Brock Street, Saturday afternoon, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., to check out Buskers, where current USS students and alumni will entertain.
Tigers get ready to mingle, on Saturday night, May 27th, with old and new friends at the 19+ Saturday Night Social, being held at Slabtown Cider Co., 4559 Concession 6, in Uxbridge.
Enjoy a live performance by Julien Kelland, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., to get the evening started, then dance to your favourite tunes under the stars or find a cozy place to catch up in the covered and heated tents. The licensed, upscale casual party will run from 6 p.m. to 12 midnight and will have a selection of spirits, Second Wedge beer and Slabtown cider for purchase. Don’t feel like driving? No problem. We encourage attendees to take advantage of the courtesy ride, on the Uxbridge Trolley, which will be ferrying guests between USS and Slabtown, from 6 p.m. to 12 midnight. Pre-register online for the event by May 12th. The cost is $32, or you can pay $40 at the door. Payment at the door is cash only.
On Sunday, a Non-denominational Christian Worship Service will take place at USS, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Share in music, testimonies and prayer. Former students, young and old, from various churches and Young Life are involved.
