Uxbridge Farmer's Market Reuniting With the Second Wedge Brewery in May

COURTNEY McCLURE, The Standard

UXBRIDGE: The Uxbridge Farmer's Market is moving back to the Second Wedge, on Sunday, May 7th.

According to Lisa Cooper, the Uxbridge Farmer's Market was located on Victoria Street, for two years, between 2000 and 2001.

During the following two years, they were located at Circle K, on Brock Street.

Then, Mrs. Cooper said, they partnered with The Second Wedge in 2018. The partnership between the Uxbridge Farmer's Market and The Second Wedge lasted until 2021

In 2022 the Tornado hit, and the Uxbridge Farmer's Market had to find another location to host the market. The Township allowed them to move to Herrema Soccer Fields.

"The town was reluctant to have us back at that location, for 2023, and wanted us in some other location more in the downtown core," explained Mrs. Cooper.

"Even though the Wedge won't be quite ready when we open, on May 7th, they were happy to have us back, and we will work out any issues [which] may arise as they come," she added.

The market staff will have complete autonomy over running the market. "We don't need to worry about anyone telling us where to go, what to do, or what not to do," she said.

The Second Wedge is in a good, central location and is easily accessible by everyone.

"Parking can be an issue, but because it is so central, we hope people will walk to it," said Mrs. Cooper.
