Town Hall 1873 Theatre Nears Project Completion: Final Phase of ICIP Accessibility and Renovation Improvements

SCUGOG: Over the past year, Town Hall 1783 committee members have been working to modernize our presence at Town Hall 1873. With the help of our strategic planning consultants and creative partners, we’ve refreshed our look.

These improvements are part of a larger vision, to preserve and enhance Town Hall 1873, as we reintroduce our Reshaping the Future campaign, to complete the ICIP grant. These projects are focused on improving our historic building’s accessibility and sustainability.

With the completed restoration and return of the iconic bell tower, updated patron's lounge, improved kitchen and green room, updated sound equipment, and the renewed marquee, we are now just one step away from completing our project!

The final step is installing a new, fully accessible elevator, providing seamless access from the back parking lot to the patron’s lounge, auditorium, and – most exciting of all – direct access to the stage for the first time ever!

This is all just the beginning. Completing the elevator will open doors to even more accessibility improvements, and, with your continued support, Town Hall 1873 will remain an inclusive and welcoming space for generations to come.

Town Hall 1873 is an historic cultural landmark in Scugog, renowned for its rich history, hosting a variety of artistic and cultural events. The venue has served as a cornerstone of the community for 150 years, and, with the support of the community, it aims to continue to thrive and evolve.
