Summer fun with the Uxbridge Youth Centre

COURTNEY McCLURE, for The Standard

UXBRIDGE: This summer, the Uxbridge Youth Centre (UYC) is running free online and outdoor events for people to enjoy. Some of these events include science experiments, coding workshops, outdoor movie nights, sports days, a geocaching hike and a movie night.

The events will occur in various location in Uxbridge including a pavilion at Herrema Fields, 85 Herrema Blvd, Uxbridge. There is almost something every single weekday from noon to 4:30 p.m., depending on the weather.

Their last event will be held on July 29th, and is an in-person summer book club at Herrema Fields.

All participants are required to wear a face-covering and adhere to Ontario’s reopening regulations. Participants must also keep a two-metre distance from one another.

If you’re a parent or guardian dropping off your child, or sibling, you must wear a facemask during the time you’re onsite. Areas that are likely to be touched will be sanitized before and after use. And cleaning logs will be kept for tracking cleaning procedures for each facility used during these events.

If you’re interested in joining the UYC for these free summer events, make sure to sign up right away. And don’t forget to check out their frequently asked questions (FAQ) section if you have further questions.

Check out their programs and registrate, go to their website at uxbridgeyouthcentre.com.
