Spencer Ford running for Durham’s New Blue Party

My name is Spencer Ford and I am 54 years old.

I am honoured to be running as the MPP candidate for The New Blue Party, for the riding of Durham in the upcoming provincial election in June 2022.

I was born and raised on Vancouver Island, BC. I have always believed in justice, equal rights, moral integrity, and a sense of duty to my community and my country.

I joined the Canadian Armed Forces at 18 years old. I swore an oath to defend this country from foreign and domestic enemies. I was assigned to the 3rd Battalion of the Royal Canadian Regiment (RCR) as an infantryman.

I served in Germany as part of NATO from 1988 to 1992. I was in the Battalion Intelligence Section and my job was to collate, evaluate and disseminate critical information. I was deployed to Yugoslavia from 1994 to 1995, as part of the UN Peacekeeping Forces during that war.

I received three medals: The Canadian Declaration, The NATO Special Service Medal and The Yugoslavia Peacekeeping Medal. I re-mustered into the Military Police and served four years at CFB Esquimalt in Victoria, BC.

In 1999 I was hired by Toronto Police Services (TPS) as a Police Constable and moved to Durham Region in Ontario. I swore an oath to uphold the Constitution, Bill of Rights, Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and to execute my duties without bias.

I then joined Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) and served Durham Region from 2003-2017. In 2010 I started my own business and in 2017 I resigned from policing to focus on my successful business.

I have volunteered with fundraising events for Sick Kids, Fiesta Week in Oshawa, and Renos for Heroes (for veterans).

I will continue to represent all with integrity and loyalty, and I will always fight for individual rights and freedoms as per the highest laws of this Democratic and free nation.

Spencer Ford, Durham
