Happy New Year, everyone! May this new decade bring everyone good health, much happiness and prosperity. We pray that there will be peace throughout the world. Happy Birthday wishes go out to Betty Lou Beacock (January 1st), James Hudgins (January 1st), Robin Drew (January 5th) and Carter Cannon (January 9th). The older residents of Seagrave will remember the Durward Family who lived on Old Simcoe Rd. The Community sends condolences to Ruby Durward Tindall on the recent passing of her husband, Keith Tindall of Keswick. Sunday was Epiphany Sunday, celebrating the Light that led the Magi to Jesus the Christ-child in the stable in Bethlehem. The Birthday Box was visited by Bill Richmond (January 5th), and the Christ candle was lit by Rick McAskill. Two prayer shawls were circulated around the congregation so that each person could say a prayer for the people who were about to receive them. They will go to Barb Martyn and Hans Buscher, both of whom are recuperating from health issues. During the Youth and Young at Heart time, it was emphasized that Jesus’ love is everywhere, particularly in the hearts of each of us. For the ministry of music, choir member Bob Shepherd sang a lovely solo rendition of “The Gift”. During his presentation, a beautifully-wrapped gift was circulated around the congregation for each to sense the love and caring that were tucked inside. During the Sermon, Minister Stephanie spoke of the hardships endured by the Magi as they crossed the desert while following the star to find Jesus in Bethlehem. Despite the hardships, they persevered to find the divine infant. Besides the gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh, they gave Jesus the honour of recognizing God in Him. Jesus, in turn, gave us the ultimate gift…His Life. Mark Your Calendars: January 9th: 7 – 8:30 p.m. Let’s Talk About it! Everyone is welcome to attend.
