SCUGOG: The Port Perry Angels U15 – Azzolin team displayed strong offence and defence to advance to the finals in the Brampton Tournament this past weekend.
Advancing to the finals was no small task having to defeat strong teams from Vaughan, Milton, Oakville, Lasalle and Port Perry (Wilcox).
The finals pitted Port Perry against the undefeated Oshawa Lady B’s team, who previously beat Port Perry 8-1 in the tournament’s opening game.
Using this as a motivator, Port battled Oshawa toe to toe, matching run for run, only to fall short by one run in the final inning losing 9-8.
The coaching staff is extremely proud of the girls’ performance and hopes to carry this over in their upcoming home tournament and league play.
