On October 3rd, Port Perry will be hosting a birthday party celebrating 150 years of existence

In conjunction with the festivities we will once again be doing a Tartan Day Parade. We are still the only town in Canada that does a Tartan Day Parade and we have had to cancel the last 2 years so thought this might be a perfect time to celebrate once again. The day is full of activities:

7:30 am Sunrise Service at Palmer Park 8:00 am Farmers Market opens on Water Street 8:30 am Pancake Breakfast hosted by Port Perry Rotary (donation only) 11:00 am Claidhmor sings in the Bandshell (bring a lawn chair) 1:00 pm Tartan Day Parade steps off from The Mill. The 78th Fraser Highlanders will lead the parade followed by two pipe bands, Scottish Breed Dogs, and many lovers of Scotland 2:00 pm Kirken of the Tartan Service at Town Hall 1873. Service lead by Malcolm Sinclair of the 78th Fraser Highlanders **Attendees must register for covid tracing at The Wee Tartan Shop And provide proof and having had both vaccinations. 2:00 pm Irwin Smith will be performing in the bandshell. 3:00 pm Mayor and dignitaries will give out birthday cupcakes.

Music throughout the town along Queen Street and at the Old Flame Distillery.

Kids Zone, sponsored by the Port Perry Agricultural Society, will be available throughout the day in Palmer Park.
