DURHAM: Despite the next provincial election not being until 2022, the Durham Provincial Progressive Conservative (PC) Association has already acclaimed Lindsey Park to be their candidate when Ontarians go to the polls. Late last month, the Durham MPP was acclaimed, during a virtual Zoom meeting held by the association. “I want to thank the Durham Provincial PC Association for acclaiming me as their candidate for the next provincial election,” read a statement from MPP Park. “It has been an honour and privilege to be the voice for Clarington, Scugog and North Oshawa at Queen’s Park.” Greg Rowden, President of the Durham Provincial PC Association, said they are pleased they will again be represented by Ms. Park. “Lindsey has represented the people of Durham with integrity, compassion and dedication, during one of the most difficult periods our community has faced in a generation,” he stated. “We are proud to have her once again as our PC Party candidate in the next election.” MPP Park is serving her first term as Durham’s MPP after defeating the then Liberal incumbent Granville Anderson in the 2018 election.
