Letter to the Editor: Passing the time

I am passing the time by sharing this email with you, which I normally would not have time to do. We have cleaned out our pantry, throwing out expired food and items we know we will never use. I almost fainted when I saw my hubby cleaning out and trying to sort out the can goods cupboards. We both work from our home and are both committed to cleaning out the clutter in our offices. We joked with our neighbours that they were putting us to shame by raking their lawn… They must be as bored as we are. When my hubby mentioned that maybe we should paint all the rooms, I got down on my knees and prayed for the pandemic to be over. Our employees are at home, and our business has come to a screeching halt. Not much fun for anyone. For small business owners like ourselves, we hope there truly is some attainable relief for business loans. So, I had better get back to passing the time by calling friends and family and increasing those people I have on Skype. Maybe I will have a cup of tea over Skype with my book club friends. Oh yes, I am addicted to puzzles and am awaiting delivery of a few more. I might pick up a sweater I started knitting a year ago. I hate to admit it, but I love doing paint by numbers. I guess now is a good time to reacquaint myself with some hobbies I love.

Regards, Maureen Wood, Greenbank
