SCUGOG: The Lake Scugog Pond Hockey Charity Tournament has set a date for its 2024 event.

The annual three-on-three tournament in Port Perry will accept registrations until January 27th, and the tournament will be held on Saturday, February 10th.

This tournament supports Big Brothers, Big Sisters of North Durham and The Ontario Volunteer Emergency Response Team (OVERT). OVERT is a group of volunteers who help communities in times of crisis, such as abductions, missing persons, and natural disasters.

Sign-in will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Port Perry Marina at 215 Water Street. Games begin at 8:30 a.m., with all teams guaranteed three games. Each team must have a minimum of three players and a maximum of six. There will be medals and prize money for the winning team.

Last year, the tournament was cancelled due to issues with the ice thickness on the lake.
