Know an environmental hero?

KATARINA ZEPPIERI, Corporate Communications LSRCA

NORTH DURHAM/KAWARTHA LAKES: The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA) is seeking watershed-wide nominations, for the annual 2023 Conservation Awards program.

Last year, the Conservation Authority recognized 23 individuals and groups, across the Lake Simcoe watershed, for a wide range of activities, including: tree planting, garbage clean ups, invasive species removal, awareness raising, community events, and private property enhancements which protect waterways.

“Each year, we search for incredible people and groups who go the extra mile to support our environment. They help keep our water clean, our soil healthy and our communities more sustainable," said Katarina Zeppieri, the conservation authority's events and marketing specialist. “They are true environmental heroes, whose collective actions become part of the solution to the many environmental challenges we face," she added.

If you know someone doing great things to support the health of the Lake Simcoe watershed, let the Conservation Authority know.

The nomination process is simple and straightforward. The deadline to submit a nomination is June 2nd, 2023. Eligibility requirements and the award nomination form are now online, at www.LSRCA.on.ca/conservationawards.

It is the mission of the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority to collaborate, protect and restore the Lake Simcoe watershed with innovative research, policy and action.
