EPSOM & UTICA by Faye Ashton

Happy Valentine’s Day to all our readers. Again, it’s not like other years, but we can send virtual hugs and kisses to our special people outside our homes, which is awesome and a phone call to those without computers is very welcome.

We’ve had an interesting bird week. A cooper hawk flew into the side of the barn while chasing its prey (little sparrows) and died. Which rarely happens. Last night a screech owl took cover in the milking barn, no doubt trying to find food and warmth. A bald eagle was also spotted on the 4th concession east of Highway 12, this past week. Interesting.

What a beautiful day last Thursday was! Days like that help to shorten this winter, which really hasn’t been all that cold yet. Let’s enjoy it.

We want to send sincere condolences to the Rogers Family of Palace Street, Epsom, on the passing of their Mother and Grandmother Jean. We adored Jean; she was such a lovely lady and the community will miss her too.

Please let me know your news to share with others by emailing me at faye.eaglesnest@gmail.com.
