Blackstock Cartwright Lions Club Lions Clubs International focuses on five areas of need in our global community. The first one we talked about last week: vision, which we are currently supporting through our collection of eyeglasses. A second program, is childhood cancer. Our District chairperson, Chris Weerdenburg, recognized that we could assist Hearth Place in Oshawa by doing some sewing. She organized a group of Lions, Lionesses and friends, along with their sewing machines, to do some sewing for the children. They made blankets, pillow cases, stuffed animals, and more. Our contribution to our Club for this project is to collect fabric and send it along. It’s amazing the stash of fabric that one collects over the years! Thanks, Lion Chris
