BROCK: Brock Township will be looking to finalize their 2021 municipal budget next week.

At a meeting on Monday, February 22nd, Brock councillors will discuss adopting the 2021 operating and capital budgets. The meeting begins at 5 p.m., and will be live-streamed on the Township’s website.

Councillors recently spent meetings, on January 22nd, January 25th and January 26th, deliberating the budgets. If approved, Brock residents could see a 2.4 per cent tax increase.

The ongoing pandemic was a major consideration during the budget deliberation process.

“We have to understand as we discuss this budget, that although the dumpster fire that was 2020 is behind us, the affects of COVID-19 are not. We enter 2021 with closed facilities and continued COVID-19 costs,” Ward 3 Councillor Walter Schummer cautioned, at the January 25th meeting.
