BLACKSTOCK by Tammy Phillips

While our COVID-19 case counts are holding in Scugog, there are definite signs of a second wave in Ontario with new restrictions in place across the province for private unmonitored gatherings. New limits are 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors. The Blackstock Co-op Nursery School (BCNS) is excited to announce its re-opening. Classes will begin again on Tuesday, October 13th, after the Thanksgiving holiday. Besides implementing mandated Covid-19 protocols and policies, the school is adding an additional day and extended hours. This is to accommodate a desire for smaller class sizes of only eight children and two teachers. As of this writing, there are still a few spaces left in the Toddlers Program (ages 18 months to three years old) on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. The JK Readiness Program (ages three to five years old), for children starting kindergarten in September 2021, runs Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. The program is now full. However, interested families are encouraged to sign up on the current wait list as class sizes may expand, and an additional day may come by January.
