Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired?

KAWARTHA LAKES: Faith Christian Fellowship will be hosting a Healing Service, on Sunday, November 26th, in Lindsay. Pastor Bill Wright, past president of the Full Gospel Businessmans' Association in Lindsay, will be leading the service.

How does a man with a career in masonry and who is a motorcycle racer in his spare time become a minister with a passion for healing? It starts at home.

“Forty-nine years ago my eleven year old son was rushed to hospital. He'd had strep throat and the germs had gone to his kidneys. His kidneys had rotted away. The doctor said they might be able to extend his life on a dialysis machine for a while but they didn't have one in Lindsay, at that time. He told me they would transfer my son to another hospital with a dialysis machine, on the Monday. I was devastated, I got my wife's bible out, I didn't have one. I didn't know the Lord, in anyway. And I just opened the bible and put it on the table and sat down, put my head in my hands and I wept. I said, 'God I'm losing my son. Everybody tells me you're a good God. I would like to know the truth. I would like to see it in this book, in this bible.' adding, 'Lord if you could just show me.' I wept and I wept, when I quit weeping, I looked and the tears had puddled on a verse. It was in James, where my tears had magnified the letters, and it said,

'Is any one of you sick? He shall call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord, And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.' James 5:14-15 NIV.

I thought, my goodness, I have heard from God. Now I had to go to somebody and ask them to pray for my son. I was concerned they would think I was crazy. But I went to a Pentecostal church, on the Sunday morning. They brought me in, they prayed for my son. An old lady there said we needed to go to the hospital and anoint my son with oil. Well I thought, okay, so I went with her, she anointed him with oil. The next morning, I was supposed to be there at 9 a.m., for the transfer of my son to a hospital with a dialysis machine. I was sitting there waiting for the doctor for an hour and a half. Finally the doctor arrived, very upset, he said, 'You're going to think I'm crazy but he [your son] looked good this morning, so we x-rayed him, and he has two healthy kidneys!”

That was a clear, medically substantiated, miracle of healing from God!

Pastor Bill's son had always shared his dad's love for motorcycle racing and after this new healthy lease on life, went on to become the Canadian Superbike Champion, in 1994.

“So I learned a principal, God's word is truth. And my wife and I have pursued that diligently,” explained the Pastor, adding, “We have been laying hands on the sick and seeing them recover ever since.”

“Some people may think that is too far out for them but we are very down to earth. God provided that [our healing] for us at Calvary. We just do what is in the word of God. Our Healing Service is open to anyone. There is no charge. We share the word, we show them in the scriptures and we lay hands on them. That is the word of God that I have followed for 49 years now.” concluded Pastor Wright.

If you miss the November 26th Healing Service, at 6 p.m., you are welcome to visit Faith Christian Fellowship for their regular, 10:30 a.m., Sunday morning service.
