The Whitby Fury came to Lindsay Friday night and won a closely fought game, by a score of 3-0.

The games first goal, and eventual game winner, came early, as former Muskie Nick Lund was able to jam a puck past Muskies goaltender Dean Buchholz, at the 24 second mark. The score remained that way, as the teams traded chances throughout the first period, until the Whitby power play doubled the lead, as Ryan Bazzana fired a point shot for a goal at 19:47, from Derek McVey and Noah Dollo.

The next goal was going to be a critical one and the Muskies found themselves in a bad way early in the second, down two men, allowing McVey to tip in a shot from the side of the goal at 4:58. The assists on the goal went to Patrick Demaio and Amedeo Mastrangeli.

There was no more scoring throughout the match, but the game did take on a chippy nature. While there were no actual fights or game misconducts there were a total of 13 penalties handed to Whitby and 12 to Lindsay, mostly for roughing and cross checking.
The Muskies did apply some pressure to the Whitby goal, a number of times, but Luke Pearson had the answer each time, making 29 saves for the shutout. Buchholz made 39 saves in the loss.

The next action for Lindsay is Sunday afternoon in Trenton.
