Uxbridge Santa Claus Parade is celebrating its 60 anniversary this Saturday

COURTNEY McCLURE, for The Standard

UXBRIDGE: Did you know Uxbridge has been hosting a Santa Claus Parade since 1961?

The parade has been held on the third Saturday of November at 11 a.m. Brock Street is closed on that day to allow the parade to pass. This year the parade is organized by the Township of Uxbridge, the BIA, the Uxbridge Cosmos and many other sponsors.

During the parade non-perishable food donations will be collected for the Loaves and Fishes Foodbank.

You can register your float for this year by filling out the registration form and bringing it to the Uxbridge Town Hall. Submit your form with proof of insurance.

Are you someone who loves the holiday season? Or are you a high school student looking for an opportunity to earn your mandatory volunteer hours? Well, you may be interested in volunteering to help with the parade.

You must be at least 14 years or older to volunteer and be available from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., on November 20th, 2021.

Also, if you’re interested in sponsoring the Uxbridge Santa Claus Parade this year, please complete a sponsorship package.

This year, the parade is continuing to accept donations. Visit their donation page if you’d like to donate.

For more information about the parade, visit Uxbridge’s website at uxbridge.ca on the explore and play section.
