Scugog sees first COVID-19 deaths

NORTH DURHAM/KAWARTHA: For the first time since this pandemic began in March of 2020, Scugog has seen their first COVID-19 related deaths.

As of press time, according to the Durham Regional Health Department, Scugog has 50 active cases. 40 people are listed in home isolation and 10 are in a hospital. Scugog has also had four deaths from the virus, three of which are from Port Perry Place Long Term Care home. Scugog also has 115 resolved cases.

Uxbridge currently has 17 active cases, 16 of which are in home isolation and one person is in hospital. Uxbridge has had 23 deaths and 168 resolved cases.

Brock Township is currently reporting six active cases, with five in home isolation and one in a hospital. Brock has had 40 resolved cases.

Meanwhile, the Haliburton, Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health unit (HKPR) is reporting Kawartha Lakes currently has 21 unresolved cases, 292 resolved cases and 36 total deaths.
