SCUGOG: This past Sunday afternoon at Port Perry United Church the Senior Choir preformed a musical celebration in honour of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee.
Her Majesty, the Queen has become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth which includes Canada.
The event featured the Senior Choir and Soloists of Port Perry United Church, under the direction of Joan Bretney, Musical Director. A wonderful component of the afternoons music was the Anthem, “Rise Up and Serve” which was commissioned specifically for the Platinum Jubilee and was performed around the globe at Jubilee celebrations.
After the musical celebration, there was afternoon tea and cupcakes. A lovely time was enjoyed by the enthusiastic crowd.
