Louie’s Cafe and Desserts Opens in Port Perry

COLLEEN GREEN, The Standard

Louie and Sophia, are proud to welcome everyone to their new Cafe and Dessert shop, conveniently located on Water Street in Port Perry.

Thanks to Sophia’s parents, who had run an ice cream store before, they shared the benefit of their knowledge with the couple. Louie and Sophia used to come up to Port Perry, from Toronto, to visit family who had a cottage on Scugog Island.

They fell in love with the area and have recently moved here. So naturally, Port Perry was where they wanted to open their business.

Louie’s Cafe and Desserts offers everything from ice cream to fried chicken and fries. Ice cream comes in waffle cones, or you can get it served on a waffle made fresh, right in front of you. They also have delicious desserts that include three types of baklava. For those who eat a gluten-free or nut-free diet, there are options for you too. They will be adding a variety of sorbets to their offerings as well. And for those who want something more substantial, they offer fried chicken and fries.

If you are just looking for a great drink, they have iced coffee and lemonades.

The shop itself is beautifully laid out.

Louie’s friend Kevin crafted the wooden counters and cutting board. Louie’s niece Sakeena painted a welcoming mural on the wall in the entranceway.

The couple has worked hard to make their shop feel like home for their customers.

Celebrate the warmer weather at Louie’s Cafe and Desserts with a nice cold ice cream!
