Letter to the Editor – November 14, 2019
Dear Publisher and Editor
I found a wrapped copy of the Standard in my driveway yesterday and was impressed by your Remembrance issue. I hope we might see the Standard regularly. I have fond memories of the Standard in a healthy condition some years back when I often wrote a feature for it and when I contributed coverage of Kawartha Lakes info during municipal elections. We lived at King’s Bay at the time. I wrote the regular curling column for some time and was convinced by a lot of feedback that it reached an important readership. Rob’s efforts kept it alive for some time. I was impressed by your local hockey coverage in the issue I just read. At one time the paper did a pretty good job of reflecting with balance what was happening on local issues and especially at Scugog Town Hall. A return to that kind of coverage would fill a sad current gap. I wish you success both financially and editorially.
