Metrolinx’s new Environmental Assessment(EA) process is not properly serving the citizens of Ontario, in my experienced opinion. Selecting the preferred alternative first before completing an EA and public consultations makes no sense. Selecting the preferred transportation alternative before completing an EA makes a mockery of the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act.

The proposed Bowmanville GO train ais a prime example of this mockery. The amended EA and public consultations will commence in 2022, yet the preferred scheme has already been selected by Metrolinx. And Ministers Mulroney and Piccini are silent on this mockery.
