Citizen’s tip leads to arrest of impaired driver

KAWARTHA LAKES: A tip from a concerned citizen led to the arrest of an impaired driver in Lindsay last week. According to police, on Tuesday November 19th at 2:55 p.m., a concerned citizen contacted the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service to report they had just witnessed a truck and trailer collide with a parked vehicle on Cambridge Street South, in Lindsay. When officers arrived to investigate, they found the truck and driver, parked a short distance away from the collision. The investigating officer determined the driver of the truck was impaired and placed him under arrest. Charged with operation while impaired–alcohol and drugs is 30-year-old Jonathan Hutchinson of Lindsay. Tips from the public are an integral part of our community and police service working together to keep the Kawartha Lakes safe.
