Brock hires their next treasurer

DAN CEARNS, The Standard

BROCK: The Township of Brock has hired a former Scugog employee, to be their next treasurer and director of finance.

On Tuesday, April 18th, the Township announced Trena DeBruijn had been hired to fill the role of the outgoing Lisa Chen.

Ms. DeBruijn had worked in the Township of Scugog’s finance department for ten years, before leaving for the County of Peterborough to become their treasurer.

“We are excited, she brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and energy to the position,” read a statement, signed by CAO Ingrid Svelnis. Ms. Svelnis also worked for a North Durham municipality, for a number of years, prior to joining Brock Township. She served as the Township of Uxbridge’s CAO, until 2019, when she retired. Then, she came out of retirement in 2021 to fill Brock’s CAO role in the interim, while the Township searches for a permanent CAO.
