KAWARTHAS: The Lindsay Muskies headed to Oakville on Saturday night, to face the Blades. For the second straight night the Muskies fell, by a score of 6-3.
Oakville scored two quick goals to open the game.
Andrew McIntyre scored short handed at 1:41, and Matthew Kellenberger assisted on the goal. Just over a minute later at 2:47, Teth Burles made it 2-0, from Matt Steen and Zach Bramwell.
Another early goal, in the second, made it 3-0 in favour of Oakville. That goal went to Peyton Reeves at 1:36, from Callum Jones and Jack Ricketts.
Braydon Leeking’s 5th goal of the season got the Muskies on the board at 10:57, from Brock Traill and Nathan Balkwill. The Blades responded, though, with two more goals. Jacob Buch made it 4-1, from McIntyre and Steen at 16:48, then it was Reeves, scoring his second of the game, at 18:25 from Ricketts and Bailey Newton. That goal was short handed.
In the third period, Muskies defender Brendan Tomilson scored his 1st OJHL goal, at 6:35 from Brock Traill, to make it 5-2. Any thoughts of a Muskie comeback, though, were put on ice at 11:46, when Thomas Maia scored from Kellenberger, to make it 6-2. Owen Barnett rounded out the scoring, from Leeking and Traill at 13:24.
The next action for the Muskies is Friday Night, when they host the Pickering Panthers.
