Special to The Standard
NORTH DURHAM: It’s the end of an era this weekend, and Port Perry Minor Hockey would like to invite all participants, family members, friends, and sponsors to attend their annual Predators Day celebrations on Saturday, Nov. 19th.
Predators Day, presented by Scotiabank, promises to be a great day to celebrate hockey in Port Perry, with a full slate of match-ups against the Uxbridge Stars, before the two sides amalgamate to take to the ice next season as the North Durham Warriors. To mark the final edition of Predators Day, Port Perry Minor Hockey will host the Uxbridge Minor Hockey Association, for most of the representative age groups. Please check the ice schedule on-line, at portperryminorhockey.ca, for a complete listing of game times.
Throughout the day, several minor hockey games will be taking place at Scugog Arena, including House League and Representative programs.
In addition to the action on the ice, there will be lots to do around the rink throughout the day on Saturday, including a bake sale, silent auction and face painting. As well, there will be a mini-stick game fundraiser, at the newly-opened Tyler Hanson Memorial Mini-stick pad. Mini-Stick games are $1.00 each or a donation to Animal Shelter for Uxbridge-Scugog. Items that are needed are Friskies pâté wet cat food, dry dog food, dog and cat toys, new or used towels and blankets, and non-clumping cat litter. All money raised and donated pet food/supplies will be delivered to the New Animal Shelter for Uxbridge-Scugog.
As with all events in the community, the Predators Day would not be possible without a great group of volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering with Predators Day activities, please e-mail email@example.com.
