Returning from the recent holiday break, local high schools have a busy slate of sports coming up.
This week, the Uxbridge S.S. Senior Girls volleyball team continued their quest for a fourth consecutive LOSSA championship. The Tigers put their undefeated record this season on the line, in a tripleheader on Tuesday, at Sinclair in Whitby, squaring off against the host Saints, O’Neill (Oshawa), and Brooklin. On Monday, January 14th, the Tigers meet Port Perry, in a Battle of North Durham, at Wilson S.S. in Whitby.
Meanwhile, Port Perry’s Senior Girls volleyball team remains in position to make the playoffs, and hosted a tripleheader on Tuesday, as Maxwell Heights (Oshawa), St. Mary (Pickering) and Wilson visited the Rebels.
The Uxbridge Tigers Senior Girls hockey team put their undefeated record of the season on the line, on Tuesday, when they hosted Holy Trinity (Courtice).
The Tigers Senior Boys hockey team dropped a 3-2 shootout decision to Wilson, in the final game, prior to the holiday break. They will look to get back on track, on Wednesday, January 16th, when they trek to the McKinney Centre in Whitby, for a 2:15 p.m. match-up, against the rival Brooklin Bears.
The new-look Port Perry Senior Boys basketball team was looking to move past .500 on the season, when they hosted O’Neill (Oshawa) on Wednesday. The Rebels will look to keep their playoff hopes alive, on Monday, January 14th, when they play host to Brooklin, and on Wednesday, January 16th, when they trek to Maxwell Heights.
