KAWARTHA LAKES: An already depleted Lindsay Muskies lineup took to the ice Sunday night in Trenton and after a penalty filled match which saw them fall by an 11-2 count each team will be a little bit shorter for next Friday’s rematch.
The Golden Hawks came out strong scoring three unanswered goals in the first period, and another three in the first half of the second before Jake Rauch scored for the Muskies at 17:27. The Golden Hawks though replied quickly to that one though and took a 7-1 lead into the second intermission.
Dean Buchholz took over for Blake Curran in the Lindsay goal for the third period but he didn’t fare much better as the Golden Hawks kept coming. After Joey Campbell scored Lindsay’s second of the night just 19 seconds in the hometown Hawks deposited four more to round out the scoring. A number of penalties in the third resulted in a pair of suspensions for Lindsay and one for Trenton so there will a few players unavailable for the rematch that takes place this Friday night at the Recreation Complex in Lindsay.
