Special to The Standard
Two quick third period goals sealed the Muskies fate Friday night, as they fell to the Pickering Panthers by a score of 3-2.
Brock Traill’s 11th of the season got the Muskies on the board, at 3:20, of the first period. The goal was unassisted.
In the second period, Jake Dale’s 1st of the year from Traill and Mike Cimini at 5:22, gave the Fish a 2-0 bulge, but Pickering answered back quickly, just 21 seconds later, when Riley Girard scored from Jacob Roach and Massimo Petricca, to make it 2-1.
Two goals, just 15 seconds apart in the third, gave Pickering a lead they would not relinquish. Mitchell Gustavsen scored at 7:02, from Roach and Anthony Azzano, then Josh Argier scored the game winning goal, from Adam Wheaton and Davis Teigen-Katsumi at 7:17.
The next game for the Muskies is Sunday afternoon in Wellington.
