UXBRIDGE: The Bruins were looking to quickly bounce back from their most recent loss to the rival MoJacks on Saturday night, when they headed to Apsley to tangle with the North Kawartha Knights.
After falling behind 2-0 at the end of the first period, the Bruins roared back to tie the game, with goals from Simon Fieg and Damien Heinle, before a Knights goal near the end of the second period gave the home side a 3-2 lead.
However, the Bruins would battle back early in the third, with Ryan Dunlop and Jack Schnalzer scoring, to give Uxbridge the lead. The lead would evaporate down the stretch, with three unanswered goals by North Kawartha, leading to a 6-4 win for the Knights.
Earlier in the week, at the Bear Den on Tuesday night, the Bruins were on the winning end of a thrilling 8-7 overtime encounter with the Georgina Ice. After seeing a 6-3 turn into a 7-6 advantage for the Ice in the third period, Patrick Bolahood played the role of hero, scoring with the Uxbridge net empty and just over a minute left on the clock, to send the game to overtime, ending the evening with a goal two minutes into the extra frame. Aikins, Schnalzer, Bartholomew, Fieg, Marshall Lockhart and Liam Timewell also scored for the Bruins, with Ryan McConkey picking up the overtime win in net for Uxbridge.
