What a wonderful weekend! In spite of the close to freezing nights, the days were sunny and clear, especially Sunday. Haven’t had many like that this summer and it was perfect for the Uxbridge Fair. Just my opinion from being there both days, but I would think this is a record attendance. So many new things, like sheep, goats and other farm displays, certainly added to the flavour. The midway seemed very attractive and the kids and parents exiting were very happy.
Some awesome young people showing off their dairy calves on Saturday and beef cattle on Sunday! Sandford young folk included: Derek Hackner and Dawson Ball; The Mustard boys, age three and five, show it’s never too early to start training your calf, and your kids!

Activity is back in full swing for Fall, with most organizations having meetings this month. At Pickering naturalist, we learned about the island of Madagascar, a very intriguing place where most of the words lemurs reside, and all of them are endangered!
At the Foster Friday night, Justin Kerswell and Jenna produced some very unusual music. It was like having a full piece orchestra. They played so many different instruments! Next week veteran entertainers Jane Loewen and Erwin Shack provide the entertainment, the following week Nancy Hall will entertain.
