Greenbank church had a very successful Talent Auction on Saturday and the church thanks all for their participation. The preps for the Annual Seagrave Turkey Supper will be in full swing, beginning Friday, and if you wish to help with the cleaning of the kitchen, etc. come to the church at 9 a.m. on Friday. We are still looking for contributions of pies. Call Kim or John at 1-416-420-4570 or email john@pumped.ca, if you wish to contribute. The schedule is as follows: October 31st, at 1:30 p.m. we will stuff birds; November 1st, at 9:30 a.m. we will peel potatoes; at 2:30 p.m. we will drop off items for the bazaar.

Our condolences go out to Penny Lafraugh, Krista and Colton, on the recent passing of Penny's mom, Margaret Morvin. The Celebration of Life was held on Sunday in Scarborough.

Get well wishes go out to Ruth Zolitz, who is in Uxbridge Hospital. Happy Birthday to Gwen Luke, whose birthday was on October 18th. Happy Anniversary to Gwen and Bruce Luke, for their anniversary on October 19th.Happy Birthday wishes to Karen Huestis, she will be celebrating her special birthday on Saturday. If you wish to set up for “Par”, contact Carol Coleman at 905-243-4628, or cc.coleman@sympatico.ca Par is a program that automatically makes a monthly payment from your bank account for your offering, so if you are vacationing or unable to attend church, there is no need to worry. The program can be cancelled anytime you wish. A dedication service took place for the beautiful upright grand piano, which has perfect pitch, that Keith and Diane Puckrin donated to the church in memory of parents Fred and Mildred Puckrin, who were active in the life of the church from 1976 onward. Keith gave a brief family history of their lives in Seagrave. Joan Lee played “Abide With Me” on the piano and Wynne and Wendy Hughes sang one verse in Welsh, in perfect harmony. Rev. Richard’s message was entitled “Allegiance to Jesus”. What does it mean? The world is in a terrible place, we are like Moses asking God ‘What do you want me to do?’ Start by getting peace within and spread the peace, making sure Jesus is present in your life. It is time for action. A meaningful “Healing Service” was held in the evening at the church with Rev. Richard and his wife Marcia, with uplifting spiritual music played by Joan Lee in a dimly lit sanctuary creating a peaceful, serene atmosphere. At the service, if you wished, you could go forward to speak privately to Rev. Richard and Marcia of your wishes and be blessed, and a cross of holy oil placed upon your forehead. October 26th at 7:00 p.m. Let’s Talk About! Bring your favorite story of Jesus to share. All are welcome. October 29th at 10:00 a.m. Greenbank Anniversary service. Guest speaker Gordon Taylor. Music by choir and “Add Water and Stir”, followed by a light luncheon. Seagrave will be closed. All are welcome. November 1st at Annual turkey supper. Seatings at 4:45, 6, and 7 p.m. Only advance tickets are available. The cost is $20 for sit down and take out tickets. For children ages five to twelve, the cost is $5. Contact Kim at 905-435-5473, or Keith at 905-985-2489, or Betty Lou at 905-985-3595, or Ken at 905-985-7778. For more information go to www.seagrave-church.com. November 5th at 9:15 a.m. Remembrance Day service. You may bring keepsakes to place on the communion table with a brief description. You may light a candle in memory of a veteran at any time during the service. There is an invite to the community and the congregation to work together to make gingerbread houses of the Seagrave church, and possibly the Ocean House and the Store, to be submitted to the Bakersville Gingerbread Village display at the Scugog Memorial Library for November 29th. This would be in celebration of Canada’s 150th and all three buildings are well over 100 years old. This will happen only if there is enough interest.
