We have had our January thaw and right back into a deep freeze, all in one day! I know that I woke up to find green grass and went to bed with the lawn covered in snow and ice.
The pot luck luncheon and celebration given for Rev. Richard and Marcia Parker was awesome. The Greenbank and Seagrave churches provided food and more food to feed an army of friends who came to wish Richard and Marcia a healthy and happy retirement. Although I just can't see this man being retired for long. We thank God for bringing Richard and Marcia to us. The Parkers brought this pastoral charge together once again. Tears were shed, laughter and memories shared. We shall miss you, Richard and Marcia, but we welcome Stephanie and Bill to lead the flock now.
Sympathy goes to Rodd Foster and family on the recent passing of his wife, Marie.
The greeters on Sunday were Jack and Elizabeth Redshaw. Elizabeth lit the Christ candle at the beginning of the service.
Len Somerville and Verna Gagnon visited the birthday box. Birthday wishes also to Rosalind Stephens on the 14th, Justin Thomas on the 17th, Peter Booth on the 20th, Craig Short on the 22nd, Joyce Abraham on the 22nd, and Katie O'Hara on the 23rd.
Our new minister Stephanie's children's story started with a question. How does God contact us? With a phone! No, He talks to us in different ways, such as music, praying, and nature. Sunday was the second day of Epiphany. An epiphany moment is when you open your heart to God to a divine minute speaking to our maker. Betty Lou Beacock read the scriptures.
