The Pow Wow is this weekend, July 15th and 16th. Both days start with a Sunrise Ceremony. Those in attendance are welcome to the breakfast that follows. Women are asked to wear long skirts to the Ceremony. The Grand Entry is scheduled for 12 noon. The Pow Wow is an absolutely drug and alcohol free event, and no dogs are allowed. The event features drumming and dancing; and a wide array of vendors selling a assortment of items, including food vendors selling Indian tacos. Please bring your own chairs. Everyone is welcome to attend. The Pow Wow Grounds are located at 22521 Island Rd., 1km north of the Casino, watch for signs to direct you. Rough camping is available for those who wish to camp on site.
Also happening this weekend, at the other end of the Island, is the Dog Days of Summer Annual Event, being held at the Scugog Shores Museum. There will be all sorts of 'doggie things' to do and see.
