The Lions ladies and men served both young and older at their delicious Pancake Breakfast last Sunday, on the 17th, with a good attendance.
The Greenbank Lions are already making plans for another community event “Breakfast with Santa” on Saturday, November 25th, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Space is limited to 25 children, ten years and younger. Please register by Friday, October 20th, with our Lion Rep at firstname.lastname@example.org with how many will be attending, and the age of child(ren). The cost is $10 per adult.
With community ball leagues ended for another summer, the Mixed 3-Pitch tournament for 16 year olds and older, starts Friday evening, September 22nd through 24th at Greenbank Ianson Park. This is another fun time for both players and spectators, an ongoing BBQ of Burgers, hotdogs, bacon on a bun, a Tuck shop, beverages, with proceeds supporting Park and Hall, and providing tournament prizes.
The 18th Annual Greenbank Soap Box Derby is on Saturday, September 30th, at 8:30 a.m. Registration sign in, and racing begins around 9:30 a.m. and runs until approximately 4:00 p.m. Hamburgers, hotdogs, Hank's Cinnamon Buns, Tim Horton's coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cookies, and a snack bar available.
At 12:30 noon, there will be a ribbon cutting to officially re-open Couves Park, celebrating the additions of a playground item, sun shelter, fresh paint, also recognition of a new playground item, which has been installed at Ianson Park. All of the above was made possible by monies from previous Derby's, and from faithful sponsors. Congratulations to Melanie Thomson and Wesley Snoddon, who were married at the Snoddon Pinedale Farm on a very hot, sunny, September 16th. It was Mel's Dad, Doc (Ron) Thomson's birthday as well; an extra special time for all. Happy Birthday Doc! 2017 will be a year to remember with the three weddings which happened in Doc's family.
Many best wishes go to Murray and Shirley Lee, as they have been married for 65 years as of September 20th.

Students and staff welcome new principal Greg Marlow, to Greenbank Public School. It is a busy place with Cross Country Practices happening, the Magazine Campaign underway, and Parent Night on Thursday September 21st, from 5 to 7 p.m., and Terry Fox Day on September 28th. Healthy snacks are being provided and volunteers are always welcome and needed for this program and more. The school number is 905-985-2567.

Greenbank Church is invited to join Seagrave United Church's 111th anniversary next Sunday, the 24th, at 10 a.m. There will be no service at Greenbank United Church. Our next service is September 30th, at 11 a.m. at Greenbank, at Sunday School.
Monday, September 25th, is a Session Meeting at 7 p.m., Stewards at 7:30 p.m.
Thursday evenings choir practice is at 7:30 p.m.
