Canada Day, and the many celebrations of our country's 150 years, were celebrated across this vast country despite the spontaneous rain showers we continue to have. Hopefully July will bring more sunshine.
I neglected to mention some of the Uxbridge Legion Pipes and Drums were also a part of Greenbank's June 24th 150th celebration. Thanks to them for sharing.
At church on Sunday Eunice Rahm and Pat Raines were greeters. Some of the congregation's thoughts on being a proud Canadian, and why we love this country, were the recognition of farms that have been in families for 150 years; our freedom of speech; the Canadian Horse; the acceptance of the Bernado Children.
We can continue to be proud of our country's acceptance of the emigrants of the 1950's following World War II, up to present day refugees. People with many gifts, from all walks of life, are contributing to, and building this multicultural nation of Canada.
Rev. Parker spoke of “One Nation Under God”. Pianist for July is Hilary Balmer, whose musical gifts are appreciated.
Next Sunday, July 9th, is the United Church Women's (U.C.W.) 55th Anniversary. The service will be led by our U.C.W. With reflections of the past, reference to the Centennial Quilt, being a part of the message time. Come and celebrate with Greenbank/Seagrave ladies as they continue to provide a medium to express loyalty and devotion to Jesus Christ in Christian Witness, Study, Fellowship, and Service.
