The first Sunday of Lent was an Intergenerational service with greeters Pat Raines and Eunice Rahm. The 1st Lenten Candle was extinguished by Mary Jean Till. The Sunday school children participated in a dramatization of the children's story and assisted in collecting the offering. Scripture readings were read by young Rachel Martens, Canyon Myers, and his mother Juli. The message of Lent was illustrated with stories of people who gave up something for personal benefit, and people who lovingly gave something anonymously to others. The choral anthem, “A Jubilant Song” was sung enthusiastically. Oh! By the way, in conjunction with Family Day, most of the children and several adults were dressed in their favourite pyjamas for the service. Happy Birthday wishes to four year old Chloe Kubbinga were sung!
