Luckily it didn't rain on our parade last Thursday, as the final day for Epsom School was celebrated by the singing of O Canada, and The Epsom School Song, "The Little School with the BIG Heart". Four members of the Uxbridge Pipes and Drum Band led the children and staff, who carried the Epsom Excel Banner and the Canadian Flag on the journey through the village. Lloyd and Nancy Morden paraded their three ponies. The Evans Family, Floyd, son Rob, grandson Scott, and great grandsons Austin and Chase, motored along on four John Deere lawnmowers, Rob Ashton putted along with his 1942 Case LA tractor, and Keith and Faye Ashton went back in time with their 57 Chev. It was enjoyable to see this little parade pass by.
Arriving back at the school, all those in attendance joined hands around the school for a final school hug. Chalk was supplied for all to write their final memories. There is one school shirt remaining to be sold and if the person who picked up two shirts at the school on Thursday could let Rob Ashton know, they are $20.00 each.
A huge ‘Thank You’ to everyone for supporting the Salad and Strawberry supper on Saturday evening, you all made it a fun success.
A big ‘thanks’ to Thank Otters Greenhouse for allowing fund raising through them, a sincere appreciation from the church.
Happy 65th wedding anniversary to Harold and Jean Rogers, best wishes for good health and much joy. Refreshments will be served before church, as the time for the service is now 11:00 a.m., come early and enjoy the fellowship.
This news is a little late but over 250 people visited the Dianne Stackhouse/Brian McLatchie garden on Saturday June 6th, for the 21st annual Gardens of Uxbridge Tour, and with the weather cooperating, nobody got wet.
Great to see so many Canada flags displayed throughout the community, a worthy gesture in celebration of Canada's 150th and all the great things about our country. Send me your news/thoughts/ideas to email@example.com.
