Some of our plans were changed again this week because of the weather, but the beauty of the glistening snow and sunshine, following Wednesday's snowfall, created a beautiful world.
The WI canceled their Wednesday meeting due to the excessive snowfall, and the Lions Music Festival canceled their Monday night performance, but continued with the Wednesday evening show as the snow let up in time. Thank-you to the festival coordinators for this opportunity for the youth in our area.
The "First Tap", took place on Saturday, March 2nd, at the sugar bush of Clancey and Gale Lavender in Pontypool. Last year, most syrup producers had a week of gathering that was done by the end of February. No years are ever the same. This Saturday, March 9th, the Sunderland Maple Syrup Festival will hold their "First Tap" at the Sugar Bush of Scott and Lori Battie, located at 12925 Brock side road 18, on the 4th Concession. This is a fun and educational outing to take your family to.
There are still tickets available for a beautiful quilt designed and made by Laura Campsall. The proceeds will go towards the 4H club's trip to Alberta in July. Contact Rob Ashton at (905) 852-2388. The UCW will meet at the church on Tuesday, March 12th, at 1 p.m. All ladies are welcome.
