Caesarea Nestleton Euchre. Here are Thursday's euchre winners: Jocelyn Bradbury finished in first place and also had the most lone hands. Barb Blue, Pat Currie, Ben Crawford and Pat Allemang tied for second, John Kay was third, Eileen Nelson, Dawn McCombe and Jim Kushner tied for fourth place and Larry Doble came in fifth. Gail Crawford and Roy Bradburn tied for the low score, and Norm Lackner had the mid score. Congratulations to all of our winners. Euchre is held every Thursday (except holidays) in the Nestleton Community Centre, 3971 Hwy 7A. Play starts at 7:30 p.m.
Blackstock & District Lions Club- Operation Scugog and Lions Clubs Camp Kirk Foundation will be the benefactors of our 'March Madness Dance' this year. It will be held on Saturday, March 23rd, at the Blackstock Recreation Centre. We'll be taking tickets at the door from 8 p.m. onward. If you purchase your tickets before March 15th, it will cost you $25; after that the cost goes up to $30. Tickets are available from Lions members, and at Penny's Mini Mart in Blackstock. Our live music is provided by the Steve Waters Cartwright Band, and the food comes to us via Strack's Smokin' Grill. We look forward to another fun night.
Watch this column for the results of our Lions 'Effective Speaking Contest' this week. We have twelve speakers from grades four through six from Cartwright Central P. S. competing in the Lions Junior English Effective Speaking Contest on Wednesday, March 6th, at the Recreation Centre. The winner will be invited to represent us at our district competition on Saturday, March 23rd, in Newmarket.
