Lake Scugog Regatta
In spite of the inclement weather, there was a huge turnout for a very successful 89th Lake Scugog Regatta, held over the August long weekend. Congratulations to all of the organizers and participants.
Blackstock & District Lions Club
The annual Musician’s Corn Roast on Sunday, August 20th, is a rain-or-shine kind of event, so you may want to plan ahead for umbrella-type coverage. The performers will be dry because they perform from a stage that has an awning. In fact, our Lions members set up a day or so ahead, climb up on the rooftop, and secure the awning. If you are feeling nimble and would like to lend a hand with this set-up, just let us know. And we do it all in reverse, the day after the performance, too. We’re looking forward to firing up the barbecues along with the Port Perry Lions, who will be serving the best corn in town, to accompany our Carter burgers. Looking forward to seeing you. That’s from noon onward at 4790 McKee Road in Blackstock, east of Regional Road 57.
