Sympathy is extended to Pat Sleep and her family on the death of her brother, Richard Bowles. Our thoughts are with Jessie his longtime wife and his family. The celebration of his life will be a private funeral at the farm.
On Thursday, Carol Thornton, May Buller, Hazel Coates, and Joyce Kelly, represented Shirley Women's Institute at the Central Ontario Area Women's Institute 115th Convention, held at the Sanford Community Hall. Everyone enjoyed Rob Snaek, the guest speaker who spoke on changing disadvantages and the workshop conducted by Kelty of Willowtree Farm dealing with new vegetables and new varieties, resulting in new eating habits. A delicious lunch was prepared and served by Steven Backs of Blackstock. An excellent day.
The Blackstock Euchre Party continues even though the results have been missed.
