There will be no church on Sunday at the United church as the congregation is invited to join the Nestleton Church for the final service at 10:00 a.m. The service will be followed by a pot luck finger food lunch.
Sunday continues to be busy as a come and go birthday party will be held at Nestleton Waters Inn, for Gord Paisley’s 90th birthday party.
The day concludes with the annual Strawberry supper by the United Church at the Rec Centre. Tickets are available at the door.
A large crowd attended the Celebration of Life held for Roy Notman at the Low and Low Funeral Home last Sunday. Sympathy is extended to Kaye, his wife of almost 50 years, and their family, Claire, Jennifer and Robt, their spouses and families, and to Roy’s siblings and their families.
Two memorial trees were planted at the Nestleton Fields in memory of Ralph and Peggy Larmer and to Bob Hoare by members of their families in an impressive service.
Pete Barber’s garage is almost completed rebuilding after the fire. He has a “new” antique car- a red 64 CHEV Impala SS, which he took to West Virginia recently and won two prizes with recently.
Carol Thornton, Hazel Coates and Peter Booth, Mae Buller and Joyce Kelly, represented Shirley W.I. at the Gamebridge branch Victorian Tea, on Thursday, at noon, last week.
It was a night of ties at the Tuesday evening card party. 1st place winners were Heidi Krieg and Doreen Sheehey, 3rd was Marelyn Trunks, 4th Jocelyn Bradbury, 5th Bryan Allemang and Joe Goldsmith; Most lone hands, Don Trunks and Jocelyn Bradbury; Low, Peter Booth Diane Norton and Aila Morgan. The specials were won by Diane Trayner. Diane Norton, Joe Goldsmoth and Keith VanCamp.
