SCUGOG: Scugog CAO Paul Allore presented council with an update on the township’s COVID-19 plans, at a meeting on Monday, June 22nd. “Staff are working on a stage two recreation and culture reopening plan. Staff are meeting this week to finalize the plan, and we will be reporting to council on the June [29th] council meeting. We will be providing timing to open the outdoor pool and [Scugog Shores] museum. Also, be talking about the provision of a modified summer camp program and the permitting of sports fields for team training,” CAO Allore told Councillors, during the announcements portion of the meeting. Scugog is also looking at a plan to open the municipal office. “We’re working on a target date for reopening the municipal office. I’ll be able to talk to you about that at the next council meeting. Along with that, [there will be] a phasing plan for staffs’ return to work at the municipal office and recreational complex,” CAO Allore explained. To protect residents and local business employees, Scugog’s CAO has a recommendation. “As an added layer of precaution for people, when they are shopping in Port Perry and the surrounding areas in Scugog, please wear a mask when you are visiting an indoor store. Just for that added level of security and safety.”
