COURTNEY McCLURE, for The Standard
UXBRIDGE: There has been ongoing road construction on Planks Lane, this past summer, which will continue throughout the month of September.
Families with students attending Uxbridge Secondary School and Joseph Gould Public School must plan their route to the schools. Planks Lane is next to these schools… because you can access them from the 3rd Avenue. But you can also access them from Nelkydd Lane as well. All other walking and driving routes going toward and leaving the school will be open.
Both the sidewalk and road will be closed on Planks Lane. Expect closures between Franklin Street and Third Avenue accordingly. The project was scheduled for completion earlier this year but was delayed because of weather conditions during the summer. The Township of Uxbridge Public Works Department asks the public to follow directional signage, posted at each of the two schools. These signs will help local traffic run safely and smoothly, wrote the Department in a public notice.
On this notice, there is a map of the area the construction will impact, showing alternate routes.
